British light vessel Spurn (LV no. 12) 1927-

Built in 1927 by Goole Shipbuilding and Repairing Company for account of the Humber Conservancy Board. Building costs 17.000 pound sterling. Commissioned on 17 November 1927. During the Second World War removed. Decommissioned in November 1975 after servicing in the approaches of the Humber estuary for which purpose she was stationed 4,5 miles east of Spurn Point. Nowadays a museum ship at Hull owned by the Hull City Council. With a gross tonnage of 200 tons-203 tonnes and as dimensions 30 x 7,3 x 3,0 x 4,4 (depth) metres or 100’ x 24’ x 10’ 14.5’. Callsign SL or MMH. Anchor cable length 6090 fathoms. Diameter of lantern housing is 8’ or 2,4 metres.
