An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands the 17th reported the departure on the 16th of the Dutch brig of war Zr.Ms. Pelikaan commanded by F.A, Sohngen towards Texel, Netherlands.(1)

On 15 January 1819 no. 23 ordered to be built as the Pellikaan. Dimensions 80 x 25 x 12 feet. With a crew of 50 men and an armament of 8 guns. In 1821 ordered to be armed with iron 6-12pd carronades and 2 iron 6pd carronades.
