Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Vliegende Visch departed Vlissinen, Netherlands to open sea according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 19 May 1831

An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands the 17th reported the departure of the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Vliegende Visch commanded by H.J. Tuning towards open sea.(1)

1. Laid down on 25 July 1826 by P. Glavimans, 14 guns, 46-56 men, speed 9-10½ knots and stricken and broken up in 1847. Decision 11 March 1826 no. 70 ordered the building of a brig to serve as patrol vessel in the Dutch West Indies to be named Vliegende Visch and to be armed with 12-12 pd carronades and 2-6pd guns.
