An item dated Middelburg, Netherlands 31 January reported the departure the same day of the Dutch frigate ship Onderneming captain H. Eeltjes towards Surinam. She was property of Boddaert&Co. To make the departure possible was it necessary to make the a ice-free fairway in the ice-bound harbour. After this was done could the Onderneming depart and Prins Frederik captain J.F. Scarper coming from Demarara enter the harbour. The latter ship also belonged to Boddaert&Co.
