Dutch ship Amphitrite transported troops to the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 7 March 1857

An item reported that a detachment of 125 non-commissioned officers and soldiers went from Harderwijk, Netherlands towards Java, Dutch East Indies with the Dutch ship Amphitrite captain Grim. The detachment was commanded by major jhr. F.J.H. Gevers accompanied by 2nd lieutenants J.W. Themmen and F.F. Mohr and officers of health 3rd class J.E.N. Buning and K.W. Hamilton of Silvertonhil.
