Dominican navy expected to be strengthened with abroad purchased ships according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 31 January 1846

An item referred to the newspaper Le manifest published at Port-au-Prince, Haiti dated 18 December 1845 reporting the returning of the flotilla after four months crossing. This was presumably caused by the arrival of general Pradère returning from the USA with the news that the navy was to be strengthened on short notice with a steamship, 1 corvette and 2 schooners.
