American whaler Glacier built at Fairhaven, USA according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 7 June 1864

An item reported the launching of the schooner Glacier on last Tuesday afternoon at the shipyard of Moses H. Delano at Fairhaven, USA. She was especially built for the Hudson’s Bay whale fishery for account of Messrs. S. Thomas&Co.. of New Bedford with as intended captain George H. Taber, earlier captain of the bark Antelope. Her dimensions were 105’x 26’6”x 10’(depth of hold) with a measurement of 250 tons burthen. Her owners had already five vessels active in the Hudson’s Bay whaling.
