Large number of Duch warships decommissioned and stricken according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 13 April 1841

An item reported that the Dutch crown recently decided that the two guardships Zr.Ms. Amstel (1) at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands and Zr.Ms. Kenau Hasselaar (2) at Willemsoord, Netherlands were to be replaced by 2 of the 3 frigates no longer usuable for major sea voyages, namely the Zr.Ms. Schelde (3), Zaan (4) and Sambre (5). Further more were the accommodation ships Zr.Ms. Atalante (6) at Amsterdam, Netherlands and Zr.Ms. Kemphaan (7) at Rotterdam, Netherlands to be replaced by the corvette Zr.Ms. Hippomenes (8) and the brig Zr.Ms. Pegasus (9). Finally were the ship of the line Zr.Ms. Waterloo (10), frigates Zr.Ms. Amstel, Kenau Hasselaar and Maria Reygersbergen (11), corvettes Zr.Ms. Dolfijn (12) and Atalante, brig Zr.Ms. Kemphaan, 11 gaff gunboats and 12 row gunboats to be stricken, to be broken up for government account and sold in public excluded te non used materials.

Ihnen, Nieuwdiep, Netherlands on for ƒ 16.600,00 to M. Rezel of Nieuwediep, to be broken up on Tuesday 10.00 o‘clock 19 November 1850, dimensions 46,21 (loadline) x 11,91 (inner hull) x 5,17 (fore)-5,74 (aft) x 6,41 (depth below main deck) metres, displacement 1.422-1.460 tons and an armament of 44 guns (30 short 30 pd guns, 20-30pd guns and 2-8pd guns).

Schuijt jr. 1826, launched Thursday 22 April 1830, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 15-16 September 1837, accommodation at Amsterdam 1841, floating barracks ship for the 1st company of marines at Amsterdam 1844, condemned and sold on a public auction at he navy yard at Amsterdam to be broken up on 31 May 1854, dimensions 36,50 (between perpendiculars) x 10,0 (inner hull) x 4,25 (fore)-4,82 (aft) x 5,39 (depth below main deck) metres, 775 tons displacement and an armament of 28 guns (20-12pd guns/20-30pd carronades, 8-12pd carronades and 6-6pd guns).

Glavimans Jz., launched 1830, dry docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 4 November -13 December 1836 and 9-12 September 1837 and again in 10 October-19 November 1840 and then condemned and fitted out as accommodation ship to replace the Zr.Ms. Kemphaan at Rotterdam, Netherlands, public auction on 2 September not successful, on Wednesday 8 October again an auction but apparently broken up at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis in 1851, dimensions 29,8 (load line) x 9,2 (inner hull) x 3,4 (fore)-4,5 (aft) x 4,5 (hold below maindeck) metres, 546 tons displacement and 18 guns (16-30pd carronades and 2-6pd guns).

Laid down at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands in September 1818, launched on 13 May 1824 at 14.00 o’clock, stricken and destined to be broken up in 1841, dimensions 54,16 (perpendiculars) x 14,70 x 6,46 (fore)-7,12 (aft) x 12,0 (depth) metres, a displacement of 3.000 tons, sailarea 2.327 square metres and an armament of 74 guns.

Frigate 2nd class, on stocks at navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands 14 May 1807, launched 7 June 1808, coppered 1809, hospital ship 1826, sold at Willemsoord, Netherlands on Wednesday 2 January 1842to be broken up when she was replaced by the navy hospital for ƒ 7.900,00 1842, dimensions 150 x 41 2/11 x 15 7/11 feet and an armament of 32 guns.
