An item dated London, England 19th May reported that the Greenland whaling was quite successful this year despite fitting out twice as much as in 1773. A certain commandeur Bartlers arrived on the 1st at Holy island returning from Greenland wrote that after a short well voyage he returned with a catch of 7.500 seals filling all his quardelen with blubber. He spoke several Dutch and British commandeurs all claiming good catches.
