American whaler James Arnold lying on 23rd March in the Bay of Islands according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 19 July 1859

A letter written by captain Sullivan on board of the James Arnold of New Bedford, USA on 23rd March in the Bay of Islands reported a catch of 500 barrels sperm oil and everything well on board. She was now destined for a cruise on New Zealand Ground.(1)
