Swedish government wanted limitation of seal hunting according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 28 August 1875

An item reported that the Swedish government tried to convince all involved countries to limit the seal hunting in the Arctic Ocean to prevent extension of the seals. The first three months of each year were seals not to be hunted.
