Icelandic coast guard vessels Tyr (1974) and Odin (1959)

ICGV Odinn IMO 5261037, MMSI 251003000 and callsign TFRA. Laid down at the Danyard Aalbirg, Aalborg, Denmark in January 1959, launched in September 1959, commissioned in January 1960, rebuilt by Arhus Flydedock, Denmark including fitting out with a helicopter deck and hangar in 1975 and decommissioned in 2006. With a displacement of 925 tons/910 long tons and as dimensions 63,68 x 10 x 5,5 metres or 208’11” x 33’ x 18’. Fitted out with Burmester&Wain V.B.F. 62 x 2 engines with a horsepower of 2.096 kW. Speed 18 knots. Her crew numbered 19 men. The armament consisted of 1 helicopter and  1-4cm Bofors gun (until 1989/1990 1-5,7cm Hotchkiss gun).

Icelandic offshore patrol vessel ICGV Tyr. IMO 7358420, MMSI 251001000 and callsign TFGA, Launched at the Dannebrog Vaerft, Arhus, Denmark on 10 October 1974, commissioned on 15 March 1978, flight deck extended in 1797 and modified in Poland in 2001 and 2006. Sister ship Aegir. Fishery protection vessel. With a displacement of 1.233 tons/1.214 long tons and as dimensions 71,15 x 10 x 5,8 metres or 233’5”x 33’ x 10’. Speed 20 knots. Her crew numbers 16-19 men. The armament consists of 1-4cm Bofors (originally 1-5,7cm Hotchkiss)gun and 1 helicopter.
