Wood-built. Launched at the shipyard De Noord N.V., Alblasserdam, Netherlands for the Indian government on 13 February and commissioned on 10 March 1958. Main engines were 2-12 cylinder 830 hp Mercedes Benz engines. Speed 20 knots. Dimensions 27,40 (between perpendiculars)-30,00 (over all) x 6,10 x 1,38 metres and a deadweight of 62 tons.
