American privateer captured British ship Trial according to the Dutch newspaper Opregte Haarlemsche Courant dated 10 February 1814

An item reported that an American privateer of 5 guns and 60 men captured off Cape Nicolas Mole the British ship Trial underway from St. John towards Jamaica. The Trial was however plundered and released and arrived safely at Jamaica. The captain of the American privateer claimed that they were 40 days at sea and captured 11 British ships of which 4 were sent to the USA and the others released.
