Dutch 8th charter, also called 3-mast hooker Zeehond 1784-1797

Of the admiralty Maze, 3-mast hooker, built at Rotterdam, Netherlands, first mentioned in 1784 or bought 1785, sold in 1796 or powder hulk in 1797<, dimensions 89½ x 24 x 13¼ feet and an armament of 12-16 guns. Fought in March 1793 against French troops off Willemstad. Commanding officers in February 1785-1787 lieutenant J. v.d. Swan, 1792-1793 captain A.Th. Detmers, 1794-1795 lieutenant C.J. Wolterbeek, later captain-lieutenant J.C. van Alphen.
