Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden arrived at South Africa according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 14 january 1851

According to a item was the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden after a voyage of 72 days arrived in the Table Bay, South Africa on 12 November 1850. Everything was well on board. She was bound for the Dutch East Indies.(1)

1. Frigate 2^nd, laid down by J. Vos at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 3 September 1844, launched on 2 December 1847, renamed as floating battery Pollux in 1859, displacement 1.861 tons, dimensions 48 (load line) x 14,4 (inner hull) x 5,7 (fore)-6,2 (aft) x 6,6 (hold below upper deck ) metres and an armament of 38 (4-20”grenade guns, 20 long 30pd guns, 12-medium 30pd guns and 2 long 30 pd guns)-44 guns. Docked as the Pollux on 30 August 1859, undocked on 20 September 1859 and finally broken up.
