Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden underway from South Africa towards the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 28 January 1851

An item reported that the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden left on 26 November 1850 the Table Bay, South Africa towards the Dutch East Indies.(1)

1. Frigate 2nd, laid down by J. Vos at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 3 September 1844, launched on 2 December 1847, renamed as floating battery Pollux in 1859, displacement 1.861 tons, dimensions 48 (load line) x 14,4 (inner hull) x 5,7 (fore)-6,2 (aft) x 6,6 (hold below upper deck ) metres and an armament of 38 (4-20”grenade guns, 20 long 30pd guns, 12-medium 30pd guns and 2 long 30 pd guns)-44 guns. Docked as the Pollux on 30 August 1859, undocked on 20 September 1859 and finally broken up.
