Dutch paddle steamship 1st class Zr. Ms. Gedeh transport troops towards Badjoa, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche staatscourant dated 14 January 1860


An item reported that the Dutch steamship Zr. Ms. Gedeh which in the first half of June a company African military bound for Badjoa, Dutch East Indies embarked at Samarang, Dutch East Indies returned on the 20th at Macassar, Dutch East Indies.(1)

Paddle steamship 1st class, first called steam warship, on stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands 25 October 1846, launched 26 April 1850, commissioned 16 April 1851, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 13-30 January 1857, in worse condition in, laid up at Surabaya and sold at the navy establishment on Saturday 29 November to be broken up 1862, served also in the Dutch East Indies, dimensions 56.00 (between perpendiculars) x 10.70 x 4.80 metres, displacement of 1.486 tons, an armament of 8 guns and 300 hp horsepower.
