Dutch survey vessel Zr. Ms. Hydrograaf in 1880 according to the Colonial Account [Dutch East Indies] over 1881

Composite-built. Launched in 1873. Draught 3,5 metres. Armament consisted of 2 guns. Horsepower 80 nhp. Maximum speed under steam during a watch of 4 hours 5 geographic miles. Tonnage 322 tons. Crew numbered on 31 December 1880 32 Europeans (fixed 35)-54 natives (fixed 46). Arrived on 27 September 1874 in the Dutch East Indies. Temporarily stricken on 31 July 1879 for major repairs, on 10 July 188o decommissioned and departed on 11th August for survey duties. Forced to stop half September her activities while her crew was harassed by beri-beri and stayed for a month at Pontianak, Dutch East Indies. Between 16 October-21 November surveying along the east coast of Billiton, Dutch East Indies when she was forced to depart on 27th November towards Onrust, Dutch East Indies to be docked and some minor repairs after striking an unknown reef. In March 1881 could again started with surveying.(1)

Call sign GQKW, composite-built, on stocks at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands in January 1873, launched in July 1873, commissioned on 16 June 1874, fitted out at the naval establishment at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies with new boilers in 1879, originally fitted out with two shells of which the first was tightened with iron bolt to the iron frame, de second with copper bolts to the first shell, second shell removed, iron bolts if necessary replaced by stronger bolts, decommissioned on 11 November 1890, stricken and converted into a pilot station ship in the Oostgat of Surabaya, Dutch East Indies. Displacement 654 ton, dimensions 42,00 x 8,00 x 4,00 metres. One 80 nhp horizontal injection condensation engine, one screw and speed 5 knots.
