An item reported that the harbour of Sabang, Dutch East Indies was visited by the French warship Amiral Charner (1) for bunkering coal and water. Another newspaper De locomotief dated 5 November confirmed the visit of the, but wondered if this visit of her underway from Saigon towards Colombo, Ceylon was also a sort of reconnaissance if Sabang was useful in times of war.(2)
