Canada strengthened navy with destroyers Restigouche and Ottawa according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1938 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine R.U.S.O. reporting that Canada bought the two C-class destroyers Comet (1) and Crusader (2) , renamed Restigouche and Ottawa. Four destroyers were stationed at Esquimalt and 2 at Halifax.

1. Building ordered on 15 July 1920, laid down by Portsmouth Dockyard, England on 12 September 1930, launched on 30 September 1931, completed on 2 June 1932, transferred too the Royal Canadian Navy on 11 June 1938, decommissioned on 6 October 1945 and broken up in 1946.
2. Building ordered on 15 July 1920, laid down by Portsmouth Dockyard, England on 12 September 1930, launched on 30 September 1931, completed on 2 June 1932, transferred too the Royal Canadian Navy on 15 June 1938 and sunk by the German submarine U-91 on 14 September 1942 500 nautical miles east of St. John’s, Newfoundland.
